Goals of the commercial modular qualification

Our Commercial Modular Qualification (KMQ) is tailor-made to prepare you for a successful career in the commercial sector.

Operational basics and digital skills

Our program starts with the module “Business Basics and Digital Skills”. This is where you lay the foundation for your commercial career. We provide you with essential knowledge about company structures, work processes and the basics of digital technologies. In Berlin, we also enrich this module with intensive MS Office training so that you become very familiar with the requirements of the modern office environment.

MS Office – The key to the digital world

For all participants outside of Berlin we offer the separate module “Applications in MS Office”. This module familiarizes you with the most important Office programs and teaches you how to use them effectively in your everyday professional life. From Word to Excel to PowerPoint – gain the ability to use digital tools professionally.

Specialist for wages and salaries

Next comes the specialized module “IHK specialist for wages and salaries with DATEV”. Here you will learn everything you need to specialize in payroll accounting. This module provides you with in-depth insights into payroll accounting and provides knowledge essential for a career in this field.

Internship – gain practical experience At the end of your course there is an internship. This valuable phase allows you to practically apply the knowledge acquired in the course and gain valuable professional experience. Under real working conditions, you can deepen your knowledge and make important contacts in the industry.

The training is aimed at German pension insurance customers who are interested and oriented towards business, job seekers with particular placement difficulties and those undergoing rehabilitation or those seeking professional help who have opted for a specialist qualification in the commercial field.

Specifically, the measure is aimed at people who

• are aiming for an individual new or re-entry through commercial training with qualification,
• Want to build up and expand knowledge and/or
• aim at a modular qualification in the commercial area.

Process of the commercial modular qualification

Thuringia and Saxony:

The measure has a duration of 9 months and an optional 6-month follow-up period. At the beginning, all participants go through a subject test and work-related introduction. The training and qualification phase takes place depending on these results. The participants now have the opportunity to start with the commercial basics (Section A) and are then trained in one or two selected qualifications (Sections B and C) from the 10 modules offered, depending on their ability and level of performance. This is followed by the orientation and work-related internship (Section D).

Berlin:

For our Berlin participants, the commercial modular qualification covers a period of 12 months and an optional 6-month follow-up period.
At the beginning of the measure, all participants go through a subject test and work-related introduction. Depending on the results, they then begin their training and qualification phase. This combines content on commercial basics (Section A) and, depending on ability and level of performance, one to 2 qualifications (Sections B and C) from the 9 modules offered. This is followed by the orientation and work-related internship.

Contents of the commercial modular qualification

In the commercial basics module, relevant commercial core competencies are taught. This includes the areas of economics, commercial correspondence, company health management and commercial arithmetic. The topic of office management, communication and organization is also dealt with. There are also learning units in the field of business English.

The basic module is one of many modules and can be taken individually according to your wishes and level of knowledge.

Your advantage is that it can serve as preparation for another specialist module or as a general refresher on commercial basics. With the specialist modules, on the other hand, specializations in different economic sectors can be completed. This not only prepares you for commercial work in general, but also gives you in-depth insights into specific specialist content. After successful participation you will receive the technical/commercial assistant. With many modules there is also the possibility to acquire the specialist.

Internship/in-company learning phase

In the course of the modules, an internship/internal learning phase is possible. This lasts 3 months. It serves to link theory and practice and thus offers good support in the practical application of the theoretical knowledge learned. In this way, you will be prepared to use your knowledge in a company before you start your career.
