Structure of the national language courses

The state language courses are two modules that build on each other: the basic course "German immediately" and the advanced course "German qualified". In order to clarify which course is suitable for you, a placement test will be carried out in advance. This will clarify what language skills you have.

Procedure of the state language course German qualified

If you can prove that you have no or very little language skills, you will be assigned to the 200-hour basic course "German immediately", in which you will then be taught the basic language skills. In a subsequent A1 test, it is then checked whether you have the necessary language skills to be admitted to the advanced course "German Qualified". However, if language level A1 can be proven in the initial placement test, you are automatically qualified for the advanced course. It is then not necessary for you to take part in the basic course. This subdivided structure is intended to enable you to have an efficient and adapted educational path. In the 400 hours of “German Qualified” lessons, A1 German skills are refined to B1 level. At the end of the day, you can take the final test "Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer" (DTZ) to obtain a qualified language certificate at level B1.

Objective

“German immediately” and “German qualified” are national language courses that aim to achieve a certain language level. But while the basic course aims at the lowest level A1, the advanced course aims to acquire advanced language skills. Based on proven A1 German skills, the basics of listening, speaking, writing and reading the German language are deepened and consolidated in the course of "German Qualified". At the end of the advanced course, your knowledge of German should have improved by two levels in order to be able to achieve a B1 qualification.
