BAMF language courses at the MIQR

With our language programs, we enable our participants to learn German sustainably (up to language level B1.2). After a placement test, in which the respective previous knowledge of the German language is tested, the modules are allocated according to language level.
In a total of 600 teaching units, which are evenly distributed over six modules, our participants have the opportunity to deal with different subject areas.

DaF – DaZ: What is the difference?

The basic similarity between German as a foreign language and German as a second language is the fact that in both cases people with a different mother tongue learn German. As part of the DaF lessons, the German lessons take place in the home country of the learners, while DaZ learners learn how to acquire the German language in the country of the target language, i.e. here in Germany. In the context of German as a foreign language, the experience of the target language only takes place in the classroom. Due to the constant confrontation with the language in everyday life, learners of German as a second language encounter German in a rather uncontrolled learning situation that goes beyond the actual language lessons.

What is a DaF / DaZ admission?

Well-qualified teachers are the prerequisite for the success of language and integration courses. In addition to their pedagogical and intercultural competence, they are characterized by a high level of professional qualification. A DaF/DaZ admission is recognized proof of these qualifications and enables you to work as a DaF/DaZ teacher after successfully completing a university degree in German as a second language and German as a foreign language.

How do you get a DaF / DaZ admission?

You are generally considered to be sufficiently qualified to teach integration courses if you have successfully completed a university degree in German as a foreign language or German as a second language. You therefore have direct approval to work as a DaF/DaZ teacher. Teachers who have not completed their studies in one of the two disciplines can only acquire an additional qualification from an institution accredited by the Federal Office. The teacher registers for such an additional qualification directly with the qualification institution.
