BAMF integration course (German) for refugees in Chemnitz - application, costs, requirements, modules, test & Co.

In addition to learning the German language, our integration course also offers help to cope with everyday life for refugees in Germany. At the beginning you go through the language course (600 teaching units) and then an orientation course (100 teaching units). During the language course, you will acquire the vocabulary you need to write and speak in everyday life. In the second part, i.e. the orientation course, you will be informed about life in Germany, for example on the topics of culture, the legal system or the recent history of the country.

Target group and requirements

The target group for the BAMF integration course includes various groups of people. In general, the legal entitlement to course participation applies to foreigners who have received their residence permit after January 01, 2005 and are staying permanently in Germany (Section 44 (1) of the Residence Act). Due to the current situation in Ukraine, special regulations apply to Ukrainian refugees regarding the requirements for an integration course via the BAMF. In this case, the granting of residence is sufficient for temporary protection in accordance with Section 24 of the Residence Act. The integration course (BAMF)

The integration course is divided into two sections. At the beginning you will take a placement test, followed by the language course. Here you will take the basic course (up to language level A2) and then the advanced course (up to language level B1). Once the required number of teaching units (600 in total) has been completed, the “German test for immigrants” is due. You then go through the orientation course (100 teaching units in total), which you complete with the “Living in Germany” test.

Integration courses are designed to make life in Germany easier for foreigners. A lot has already been achieved by learning the German language, as it makes it easier for you to find work, for example, or to fill out important applications. In addition, basic knowledge about Germany should be acquired, such as about the culture or the legal system.

Here you will learn the basics of the German language and deal with important topics from everyday life. You will be trained in writing, reading and speaking. The content of the orientation course addresses issues that are important for successful integration. Aspects of life in Germany are discussed here, such as social values ​​and norms, which can vary from country to country. Orientation course

Completion and exams of the integration course (BAMF)

The integration course pursues the goal that the participants can act independently in everyday life at the end. Therefore, the qualification is made up of the language test (“German test for immigrants”) and the test “Living in Germany” (LiD). That "Integration course certificate“ is issued if participation in the LiD and a language course with language level B1 was successful. The language course can also be completed with language level A2, although the test would be considered failed. Here you have the opportunity to have one Request for one-time repetition submit.

"German test for immigrants" (DTZ)

This test is carried out after the language course and pursues the goal of language level B1. The written part lasts a total of 100 minutes and includes reading and listening tests as well as the task of writing a short letter. In the oral test that follows, which lasts a total of 15 minutes, you must first introduce yourself and demonstrate your ability to communicate with another person to the examiners.

Test "Living in Germany" (Lid)

This test tests your knowledge from the orientation course. Among other things, questions about the legal system, life in Germany and history are addressed here. The questionnaire consists of 33 questions, each with four possible answers. This must be answered within 60 minutes with at least 15 correct questions. Costs and funding from the BAMF

Participation in the integration course is for you free, if you belong to the eligible target group:

  • Aussiedler and their relatives
  • Asylum seekers with good prospects of staying
  • Asylum seekers close to the labor market who came to Germany before August 01.08.2019st, XNUMX
  • Persons with a residence permit according to § 25 Abs. 5 AufenthG
  • Tolerated according to § 60a Abs. 2 S. 3 AufenthG
  • Persons who have been granted residence for temporary protection under Section 24 of the Residence Act

Other people who can benefit from free participation are Union citizens, nationals and people with other residence permits. These are supported if unemployment benefit II or subsistence allowance is received, but also if there is other financial need. For such a permit, an application must be submitted to the relevant regional office of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
