The integration course (BAMF) at the MIQR Dresden
You go through two sections on the integration course. On the one hand, you complete the language course after you have taken a placement test. This is further divided into the basic course (up to language level A2) and the advanced course (up to language level B1). After you have mastered the planned 600 teaching units, the "German test for immigrants" follows. You then complete the orientation course of a total of 100 teaching units, which you then complete with the "Living in Germany" (LiD) exam.
As a participant, you undertake to attend the course regularly and to take the final exam.
Content
The contents of the integration course should prepare foreigners and refugees for life in Germany and provide them with support in coping with everyday life. Learning the German language helps, for example, to find a job more easily. Aspects of the legal system or German culture are taught in the orientation course, which also promotes successful integration.
Content of the language course
In this context, life, speaking and writing are tested. Accordingly, you will be taught the basics of the German language, with reference to important everyday topics. Content of the orientation course
In this section in particular, emphasis is placed on preparing you for a successful integration. Topics related to life in Germany are taken up and discussed here. You can see what these are from the graphic below.
Completion and exams of the integration course (BAMF)
After successful completion, you should be able to manage everyday life in Germany independently. Completion of the integration course is therefore divided into passing the "German test for immigrants" after the language course and the "Living in Germany" (LiD) exam, which is planned after the orientation course. If you are successful in all of them, you will receive the "Integration course certificate“. However, if you only complete the language course with language level A2, the test counts as “failed”. In such a case, you have the option of Request for one-time repetition submit.
"German test for immigrants" (DTZ)
After completing the "German test for immigrants" (DTZ), you will reach language level B1. You will go through both a written part of 100 minutes and an oral part of 15 minutes. During the written exam, you will complete a reading and listening task and write a short letter. In the oral part, your ability to communicate with a second person will be put to the test by the examiners.
Test "Living in Germany" (Lid)
Here your level of knowledge from the orientation course that you have previously completed is queried. Questions are asked about aspects of the legal system, recent history or everyday social life in Germany. The questionnaire to be processed is made up of 33 questions, each of which has four answer options.
