Our courses are designed to help people with previous knowledge of the German language the C1 level quickly and safely to reach. In order to take part in our courses, you either need a current B2 language certificate or you must have completed our B1/B2 basic course. With language level C1 you meet the language requirements for many professions in Germany, such as pharmacists, doctors, educators, psychologists, veterinarians, dentists and social workers.

Our language courses offer an intensive and interactive learning experience that will help you to reach the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). With this language certificate you can prove that you can use the German language effectively in professional contexts.

Target groups of the professional language course B2/C1

Our courses are designed to support migrants in profiling their German language skills. This is to enable them to meet the requirements for employment, improve their education or advance in their current job.

The professional language course B2 to C1 is suitable for these target groups:

In order to be able to take part in the C1 course, you must have German language skills at level B2 (with a corresponding language certificate according to the GER).**

** If a language certificate is more than six months old, a placement test must be taken and assessed by a certified teacher in order to participate in the program.

Conditions of participation for the professional language course B2/C1

In order to be able to take part in this special language course, you need proof of entitlement, which is usually issued by the employment agencies and job centres. If you are interested, contact them to get the necessary document.

If you are in an employment or training relationship but do not receive any support from SGB II or SGB III, you can also submit your application for eligibility directly to the BAMF.

 

Um generally eligible to be, you must:

  • have German language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages.
  • be registered as looking for work and/or receive benefits under SGB II (“Hartz IV”) or SGB III (unemployment benefits).
  • either be looking for an apprenticeship or are already in an apprenticeship.
  • are in the process of recognizing your professional or educational qualifications.
  • have a migration history and need additional language training (immigrants from non-EU countries, EU citizens and Germans with a migration background).

 

prospects who not are looking for a job, unemployed or looking for training, must demonstrate that:

  • you need support with the recognition of a professional qualification from another country.
  • they have to reach a certain level of German language skills in order to get a work permit.
  • they are ready for vocational training or would like to prepare for it.
  • that they need a job-related German course to complete their training

 

Special case employee:

  • You have demonstrably insufficient language skills to do your job efficiently and accurately.

 

Important note: People who want to improve their German skills for academic purposes or a doctorate are not suitable for the C1 professional language course. This course is specially designed for people who want to improve their language skills for professional purposes.

Aims of the professional language course B2/C1

The aim of the German basic course is to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills of the German language that are required to reach level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). This course will help you master the German language by profiling your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and introduce you to the German working culture.

With a language level of C1 you will be able to:

  • understand complex and longer texts and recognize implicit meanings.
  • Express yourself quickly and fluently without having to search for words.
  • to use the language competently in a professional and social environment.
  • express yourself clearly, orderly and comprehensively when discussing complicated topics.
  • to communicate confidently with authorities and offices and to fill out forms and documents.
  • Understand job advertisements, compile application documents and present yourself confidently in job interviews

 

Procedure for the professional language course B2/C1

The comprehensive C1 course with 400-500 teaching units teaches language, communication and job-related skills that are essential for professional success. Not only will you acquire the language skills needed to work effectively in the workplace, but the course also covers topics such as job search, education and training, legal issues and dealing with the media. With this comprehensive approach, you'll gain the confidence you need to excel in interviews, presentations, and other professional situations.

The B2 basic course offers a solid foundation in important topics such as communication in the workplace, job search, education and training and legal frameworks. With the C1 professional language course, these key areas are deepened, allowing learners to build on their existing knowledge and develop their skills in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Contents of the professional language course B2/C1

The C1 course builds on the B2 foundation course and offers 400-500 lessons full of relevant content tailored to the future professional life of the participants. This course not only covers the topics of communication and learning in the workplace, but also deepens aspects such as job search, education and training, legal issues and media use. This enables participants to gain a deeper understanding of topics such as job applications, safety regulations and complaints management, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need for future professional success.

Completion of the professional language course B2/C1

The basic course concludes with a comprehensive final test that assesses the knowledge and skills of the participants at C1 level. All four language skills are tested in this exam:

  • Speak
  • reading comprehension
  • listening comprehension
  • Tender

If the exam is not passed on the first attempt, it and the entire professional language course can be repeated once if desired.

 

Promotion of the professional language course B2/C1

Who visites not working is, for whom participation in the professional language course is completely free.

*If you have an annual income of more than €20.000 for an individual assessment or €40.000 for a joint assessment, you can a fee of €2,42 per lesson be calculated. After completing and passing the exam, up to 50% of the fee can be refunded.

Travel cost can be adopted for those who:

  • live more than 3 kilometers away from the course location (shortest walking distance) and receive benefits according to SGB II, SGB XII, asylum seeker benefits or vocational training allowance according to §56 SGB III or
  • Unemployment benefit according to §136 (1) No. 1 SGB III.
