Orientation course in Dresden for migrants, refugees, foreigners and more [BAMF funded]

The orientation course gives you a deep insight into the cultural, historical and legal life of Germany. Over the course of 100 teaching units, you will gain in-depth knowledge of German values ​​and traditions. After successfully completing the "Living in Germany" test, you will receive a certificate. This, in combination with a B1 language certificate, paves the way for a permanent residence permit in Germany.

If you already have solid language skills (B1) and are eligible for the integration course, it is possible to take part in the orientation course. He is part of comprehensive integration course, which also includes an extensive language course of 600 teaching units. Target group and requirements

The target group for the BAMF integration course includes various groups of people. In general, the legal entitlement to course participation applies to foreigners who have received their residence permit after January 01, 2005 and are staying permanently in Germany (Section 44 (1) of the Residence Act). Due to the current situation in Ukraine, special regulations apply to Ukrainian refugees regarding the requirements for an integration course via the BAMF. Course of the orientation course (BAMF)

Before you complete the orientation course with a total of 100 teaching units, it is advisable to successfully complete the integration language course (B1 language level certificate). This is an important point in order to be able to successfully master any language difficulties that may arise.

  3. History, culture and values:
    • Overview of important epochs of German history.
    • Introduction to cultural features, holidays and traditions.
    • Discussion about values ​​like freedom, democracy and tolerance.
  4. Law:
    • Basic principles of the German legal system.
    • Rights and duties of citizens.
    • Important aspects of family, labor and tenancy law.
  5. People & Society:
    • The education system in Germany.
    • Family structures and living together in society.
    • Religious diversity and the importance of tolerance.
  6. Final test “Living in Germany”:
    • Review of the knowledge acquired in the course.
    • If you pass the test, you will receive the “Certificate of Passing the Life in Germany Test”.

Content of the orientation course

Topics that are important for comprehensive integration are discussed. For example, values ​​or norms differ from country to country, so that aspects of life in Germany are discussed in this context:

  • History: Important milestones and turning points in German history.
  • Culture: The facets of German culture and traditions.

Completion and exams of the orientation course (BAMF)

The aim of the orientation course is for the participants to be able to manage their everyday life independently at the end. Accordingly, the “Living in Germany” (LiD) test takes place at the end. This LiD certificate is part of the acquisition of the "Certificate Integration Course", which results from participation in the LiD and the successfully completed language course Language level B1 composed.

Test "Living in Germany" (Lid)

In this test, you will be asked about the knowledge you have gained in the orientation course. Among other things, it is about questions about the legal system, life in Germany and history. The questionnaire consists of 33 questions, each with four possible answers. This must be answered within 60 minutes with at least 15 correct questions. Costs and funding from the BAMF

Participation in the integration course is for you free, if you belong to the eligible target group:

  • Aussiedler and their relatives
  • Asylum seekers with good prospects of staying
  • Asylum seekers close to the labor market who came to Germany before August 01.08.2019st, XNUMX
  • Persons with a residence permit according to § 25 Abs. 5 AufenthG
  • Tolerated according to § 60a Abs. 2 S. 3 AufenthG

Other people are also entitled to take part in the integration course free of charge if they are in financial need, are receiving unemployment benefit II or are receiving support.
