Target groups of the professional language course B2/C1
Our courses are designed to help migrants improve their German language skills so they can enter the labor market, improve their existing education or advance in their current job. By attending our courses, they will gain the confidence and knowledge they need to compete in their chosen field.
The professional language course B2 to C1 is suitable for these target groups:
In order to take part in the basic course B2 to C1, participants must meet the following requirements:
- German language skills at level B2, which are proven by a valid language certificate according to the CEFR.**
** If you want to take a course but don't have a valid language certificate, don't worry! At MIQR, we are committed to helping you achieve your language goals. If your certificate is more than six months old, we will help you take a placement test and have it assessed by a recognized teacher so that you can take the course.

Conditions of participation for the professional language course B2/C1
In order to be able to take part in a professional language course, a certificate of eligibility is required. In principle, the employment agencies and the job centers decide on this. If you are interested, please contact these offices to obtain the required certificate.
If you are in an employment or training relationship or in the recognition process and do not receive any benefits under SGB II or SGB III, you can submit your application for entitlement to participate directly to the BAMF.
General admission requirements:
- You have proven knowledge of German at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages.
- You are registered as looking for work and/or receive benefits under SGB II (“Hartz IV”) or SGB III (unemployment benefits).
- You are looking for an apprenticeship or you are already in an apprenticeship.
- You are in the process of recognizing your vocational or training qualification.
- You have a migration background and need further language training (immigrants from third countries, EU citizens, Germans with a migration background).
Prerequisites for a BAMF certificate if you are not registered as looking for training, looking for a job or unemployed:
- You are currently completing an apprenticeship.
- You would like to have your foreign professional qualification recognised.
- You must take a supportive job-related German course in order to successfully complete your training.
- You need a certain language level to get a work permit.
Requirements for employees:
- Your current knowledge of German is insufficient to perform your duties satisfactorily.
Important note: Persons who would like to improve their knowledge of German for their studies or doctorate cannot take part in the C1 professional language course.
Aims of the professional language course B2/C1
The aim of the German basic course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to reach level C1. After completing this course you will be able to:
- understand complex and demanding texts accurately and interpret implicit meanings.
- speak spontaneously and fluently without having to search for words.
- use the language effectively and flexibly in social and professional situations.
- express yourself clearly, precisely and in detail about complex topics.
- to communicate confidently with authorities and offices and to fill out documents and forms.
- Understand job advertisements, prepare application documents and successfully participate in job interviews.
Procedure for the professional language course B2/C1
The linguistic-communicative and other job-related skills of level C1 are 400-500 lessons communicated that relate to content that is relevant to the future professional life of the participants. In addition to communication in the workplace, the course also covers topics such as job search, education and training, legal issues and dealing with the media. This comprehensive approach will give you the language skills and confidence to do well in interviews, presentations and other professional situations.
The B2 basic course already covers essential topics such as communication in the workplace, job search, education and training as well as the legal framework. These focal points are taken up again and expanded in the C1 professional language course so that the learners gain a deeper understanding. This allows participants to build on existing knowledge and develop their skills in a sustainable, effective way.

Contents of the professional language course B2/C1
The C1 level course builds on the B2 foundation course and offers 400-500 units of relevant and tailored content to prepare participants for their future professional life. In our lessons, we deal with topics such as job search, training and further education, legal issues and media use and offer sustainable language support that goes beyond the basics and imparts comprehensive language skills. Through this course, participants will gain a better understanding of important concepts such as job applications, security regulations and complaints management, giving them the skills they need to be successful in their professional lives.

Completion of the professional language course B2/C1
The basic course ends with a comprehensive final test that assesses the knowledge and skills of each participant at the C1 level. All four language skills are tested as part of the exam:
- Tender
- Speak
- reading comprehension
- listening comprehension
If the language test is not passed, the test can be repeated at C1 level. If it is also not to be expected that the examination will not be passed without repeated lessons, the entire professional language course can be repeated upon request.
Promotion of the professional language course B2/C1
The professional language course is BAMF funded. Non-employed persons can is free take part in professional language courses.
*For professionals However, with an annual taxable income of more than €20.000 (individual assessment) or €40.000 (joint assessment). Fees of €2,42 per teaching unit attack. But if you pass the exam, you can claim a refund of up to 50% of the cost contribution, so you don't have to worry about the cost.
The Travel expenses can be reimbursedif you meet any of the following criteria:
- You live more than three kilometers (shortest walking distance) from the course location and/or receive benefits according to SGB II, SGB XII, asylum seeker benefits or vocational training allowance according to § 56 SGB III.
- You are entitled to unemployment benefit according to § 136 (1) No. 1 SGB III.
In order to have your travel expenses reimbursed, please submit proof of your eligibility to the funding agency.
