BAMF integration course (German) for refugees in Dresden - application, costs, requirements, modules, test & Co.

Both learning the German language and help in coping with everyday life - the integration course supports refugees and foreigners when they arrive in Germany. You will complete a language course totaling 600 language units, during which you will acquire the vocabulary you need to write and speak in everyday life. Target group and requirements

Different groups of people with different requirements can complete the integration course. Foreigners who received the residence permit after January 01st, 2005 and live permanently in Germany (§ 44 Abs. 1 AufenthG) have a legal right to participate in the integration course. The integration course (BAMF) at the MIQR Dresden

The integration course consists of two sections. After you have completed a placement test at the beginning, you begin the language course, which is divided into the basic course (up to language level A2) and the advanced course (up to language level B1). The 600 teaching units to be completed here will then prepare you for the “German test for immigrants”. You then go through the orientation course of a total of 100 teaching units, which you complete with the "Living in Germany" test.

Completion and exams of the integration course (BAMF)

After completing the integration course, you should be able to manage everyday life independently. The degree is thus divided into the completion of the language test (“German test for immigrants”) and the test “Living in Germany” (LiD). If you have successfully completed this and the language course with language level B1, you will receive the "Integration course certificate“. "German test for immigrants" (DTZ)

The aim of this test is to reach language level B1. The written part to be completed here lasts a total of 100 minutes and includes a listening and reading test as well as writing a short letter. In the oral test, which is then carried out, your ability to communicate will be assessed in a total of 15 minutes with a second person and the examiners.

Test "Living in Germany" (Lid)

After completing the orientation course, the content conveyed here will be queried in the “Living in Germany (LiD)” test. Here questions are asked about the legal system, everyday social life and the recent history of Germany. The questionnaire to be processed contains a total of 33 questions, each with four possible answers. This must be completed within 60 minutes with at least 15 correctly answered questions. Costs and funding from the BAMF

The one-off participation in the integration course is for you free, if you belong to the group of persons eligible for funding:

  • Aussiedler and their relatives
  • Asylum seekers with good prospects of staying
