The continuing education bonus is a subsidy aimed at the unemployed and the low-skilled. This means that you can receive financial support if you are unemployed, at risk of unemployment or if you have not obtained a professional qualification. This is recorded in Social Code III under §81. This is intended to give you the opportunity to gain a foothold in the job market in the future. To a certain extent, the further training bonus serves as a financial incentive so that you can consistently pursue the goal of ending or averting your unemployment.

How much is the continuing education premium?

There are differences in the funding amount, which depends on the type of examination. It is important, however, that the continuing education premium only applies to examinations that from external bodies be removed. If you pass the intermediate examination successfully, you will receive a further training bonus of 1.000 euros. This is only valid if an intermediate examination is provided for in the framework curriculum of the desired training occupation. If this is not the case, the further training bonus for the intermediate examination is not applicable. For jobs with a stretched final exam the first part of the final exam counts as an intermediate exam, so that you can benefit from the further training bonus here.

Deadlines for funding

In order to be able to receive the continuing education bonus, it is necessary to important deadline to note. This states that the retraining must begin between August 01st, 2016 and December 31st, 2020. Because only if the vocational training measure falls within this period can you benefit from the promotion of a passed exam.
